When a cleaning service comes out to do an estimate and gives you a price that seems a little inflated, please dont come across as having sticker shock. So let just list a few things that make a GOOD cleaning service worth its weight.
1. You should not be treated like a number or a time stamp Meaning, some will come in and charge by the hour and give you exactly 2 hours, for example, and leave. It does not mean they are getting everything done or doing it the proper way. So with that being said, when you have someone charging $40-$60, I promise they are not doing everything the way it should.
2. Don't be afraid to ask what their price includes. Just remember the old saying, " You get what you pay for!!" no matter if it is a franchise or a small business.
3. When talking about small businesses, understand the overhead that has to go into running that business. They are buying their own supplies to bring to your home, using his or her own equipment, gas, paying their helper bee, insurance, etc. You ask how is this your problem? Its not!! But keep that in mind when at the end of the day, they have come to clean your home so you dont have to at the end of the day. So now that all the overhead is taken out of the $40-$60 they MAY turn a profit.
4. Just becaue you are a freind does not necessarily mean you will always get a discount!!!
There are so many more factors that go into the pricing aspect, but this just gives you an idea of where I am coming from and the figures given above are just examples.
What are your thoughts?
